UNE holds annual congress

The Congress of the public sector union UNE took place on 15th April. The Congress discussed future action plans and received a report on the past year's activities. A message of solidarity from UNISON was read out. Domingo Perez was re-elected as General Secretary for a further three years, and the union's new National Executive was also elected, with 50% of seats going to women. Four places on the Executive were also reserved for young members. A representative from UNE will be visiting the UK in June for a speaker tour; the representative will also be attending UNISON's National Delegate Conference.
