Health union celebrates 40 year anniversary

On 13 June, the Health Workers Union FETSALUD celebrated its 40th Anniversary. The union pledged to continue to work to provide all Nicaraguans with a quality public health service and reaffirmed its commitment to pay particular attention to families and communities. In addition to taking part in the celebrations, participants voted to elect the Executive Committee of the union, which now comprises 16 people, 8 of whom are women. Dr Gustavo Porras remains as General Secretary, with Dr Evile Umana as his Deputy.
