UNISON approves project for health union

NSCAG News | on: Monday, 10 November 2014

UNISON's International Development Fund has agreed to support a one year capacity building project for the health union FETSALUD. The project will commence in January 2015 and will be directed at trade union officials at all levels. Particular emphasis will be given on training women and young people with a view to enhancing their knowledge and skills and their ability to participate in trade union work and produce the best and most effective outcomes for the union. The training will also include providing a better understanding of national and international problems, based on the understanding that working people in Nicaragua are part of a regional and global market. As part of the project, it is anticipated that two delegates from FETSALUD will visit the UK in 2015 for discussions with UNISON members and branches.
